A Message from Judge Trey Dibrell
"When I became
Judge of County Court 2 twelve years ago, the County Courts had a enormous
backlog of cases. One of my priorities was to reduce that backlog. To this end,
I have disposed of more than 8,000 cases per year, making County Court 2 the
most productive and efficient Court in Galveston County.
County Court 2 is unique in that it handles Civil,
Criminal, Family, and Juvenile cases. Being an effective Judge requires having a
thorough knowledge in all areas of the law and the experience and ability to
apply it impartially in a variety of situations. It also takes having the work
ethic to expedite the handling of cases so that justice can be served. My 30
years of legal experience and track record as a Judge prove that I am up to the
task.
As Judge of County Court 2, I have dealt firmly with
juvenile crime, DWI, child support, and victim's rights. My commitment to better
protect your neighborhood from all crime has included particular attention to
the increasing number of juvenile cases facing the courts today. When possible,
I have stressed rehabilitation programs for both juveniles and adults--however,
repeat offenders find little sympathy in County Court 2.
It is my job to see to it that justice is served. In
doing so, both the victims of crime and the accused find their rights are
respected--as justice requires and the law intended. My work ethic and ability
to be fair and impartial has earned me the respect and endorsement of an
overwhelming majority of attorneys, from all sides to the docket, who practice
in the courts of Galveston County."
Truly
Judge C.G. "Trey" Dibrell
